Spotlight: Erin & Blake

Tonya Brown

As we welcome the season of fall, and all the warm feelings and bursts of color that go with it, we are happy to present Erin and Blake's wedding. After years of knowing each other through junior high, high school, and college, this incredibly lovely and down-to-earth couple married October 26, 2013! The ceremony took place in our Metropolitan Terrace and as the 170 guests entered, they were greeted by many of the couple's DIY designs! A sign crafted by the couple requested "friends of the groom, friends of the bride, please choose a seat, not a side." They were also presented with creative programs that detailed the wedding party with silhouettes in addition to their names! The alter featured a gorgeous iron arch decorated by Ambience Floral Designs with various green foliage, pinks, reds, and oranges - personally one of my favorite combinations for fall. The groomsmen looked especially handsome walking down the aisle in their tan and chocolate brown suites that complimented the stunning bridesmaids. Once Erin began to process down the aisle, you would have never known that these two did a first look based on Blake's overjoyed expression!

Cocktail hour in our Plaza Park Ballroom gave guests a chance to mingle and enjoy some small bites as we transformed the Terrace. The reception was such a beautiful representation of autumn with the glowing candlelight, the red and orange toned floral centerpieces, and even the amber uplighting. In addition, the couple added personal touches that spoke to their fun personality. The escort cards that guests gathered on their way in doubled as frame favors for memorable photo booth photos, and we particularly love the table numbers that showcased a picture of Erin and Blake at various ages to correspond with the table numbers. Instead of wedding cake, there were delicious cupcakes as another special treat for guests to help themselves to, after the bride and groom fed each other their his and hers cupcakes of course! What a perfect wedding, and couple, to wrap up our October weddings!
